Printed books today seem to be out of date as there is ebook everywhere. That’s why an ereader is getting more and more important today. It is easier to be brought than hundreds page of books. But as you bring your ereader everywhere, the risk for you to lose your ereader is increasing. Here is the step you can take if you lose your ereader. I only pick three variant which I think has the biggest market.
Let’s start with the biggest player, Amazon’s Kindle. Unfortunately, Amazon said that they can’t locate your device via GPS. But they still can de-register your ereader if you call them so that other people can’t use your account to purchase. Here are the phone numbers: 1-206-266-0927 if you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, the U.K. or the Virgin Islands; 1-866-321-8851 if you live the U.S.; or 1-206-266-0927 if you live in another country
For Nook and Nook Color, you’ll need to call the customer service, also to de-register your gadget. But the best thing from Nook is that all your side-loaded content will still safe after de-registering. Lastly for Sony Reader, you need to call your customer support. But you’ll need your serial number to report that it is lost. The representative only suggest you to fill a police report to recover your device.
